His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew l is the 270th successor of the Apostle Andrew and current Archbishop of Constantinople since November 1991. In accordance with his title, as the Ecumenical Patriarch, he is regarded as the primus inter pares (first among equals) in the Eastern Orthodox Church, and is the spiritual leader of approximately 300 million Orthodox Christians worldwide.
