His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros is the eighth Archbishop of America elected since the establishment of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in 1922.  The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America is headquartered New York City  and is a Province of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The Archdiocese serves as a beacon, carrier, and witness of the message of Christ to all persons who live in the United States of America, through divine worship, preaching, teaching, and living of the Orthodox Christian Faith.
